Fans of Club African have raised more than one million Tunisian Dinars (€ 350,000) in a day in an effort to help the team get out of a difficult financial situation and avoid further points deduction.

According to the Tunisian journalist, Souhail Khmira, fans contributed the whopping sum in a day and are ready to do all they can to see that the club does not die.

The club’s fans, including kids, are have taken it upon themselves to see that one of the oldest clubs on the continent, club African, which has gone bankrupt and near collapse do not die. They said; “The red and white colours will no die until our soul is dead.”

The fans have previously collected over 1.7 MILLION Tunisian Dinars (€+500,000) that were used to pay previous fines over the last month. Souhail reports.

The club had set up a special account where fans can donate to help the team.

The thirteen-time Tunisia league champions, Club Africain are unfortunately going through a very difficult period due to unpaid fees and salaries to former player. had reported that Club African was one of the six African clubs listed in July this year by The International Federation of Professional Footballers known by it’s French acronym as FIFPRO, warning professional footballers not to sign there, because of repeated non_payment of players salaries.

The Club a month ago was sanctioned by FIFA with a transfer ban for the next 3 transfer windows following unpaid earnings to Bassiro Compaore.

The club turned 99 years in October, and the hope will be that the African club with great history comes out of these hard times.
