Indomitable Lions of Cameroon and FC Bayern Munich forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has scored his first UEFA Champions League goal for Bayern Munich and his first in this season’s competition.
The 31-year-old was on target this Tuesday evening in his side’s 2-0 win at home to Lokomotiv Moscow in match-day six of the 2020-2021 UEFA Champions League.
The former PSG forward who started the 1-1 draw last week against Atletico Madrid started the game against the Russian and waited till the 80th minute to get his 7th goal in all European competitions.
Niklas Sule had given Hansi Flick’s boys the lead in the second segment before the goal from Choupo-Moting.
The game ended on a two-nil score thus crowning Bayern’s supremacy in the group with 16 points from six games.
The defending champions will be in the 16th final draw later this month.
Choupo-Moting played the entire game while Cameroon descent defender Bright Akwo Arrey-Mbi was a sub all along.
The former Schalke forward dedicated his goal to the fight against Racism in support of compatriot Achille Webo following events of the previous 24 hours.
