The 34-year old defender has put pen to paper and agreed a fresh deal with the French Ligue 2 outit that will keep him at the club till June, 2023.
The defender’s previous contract at the club was set to expire at the end of this month and a renewed deal is a testament to her performances on and off the pitch, and his role as a leader in the Yzeure dressing room in the running to the final of the 2022 unprecendented French Cup final.
“Its with pleasure that we announce to you the comtract extension of our captain,” a club statement read.
Given Manie’s status within the club, it is understood that discussions have also been held between the Yzeure hierarchy and Manie’s entourage about the possibility of a coaching role at the club once she decides to hang up his boots as she has become a cult hero in two years.
“In two years,Christine has become a very emblematic player at Yzeure and gave a lot in our ride to the french cup final,” the club statement announcing her arrival continued.
The 35-year-old has been a crucial asset to Johnny Kari’s side and has established herself as one of the best and most consistent defenders after two years of dominating displays at the back.
Yzeure will compete in the second tier of French football for the upcoming season.
