French Women’s second-tier championship outfit Yzeure has reached an agreement for a one-year contract extension with Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon defender Christine Patience Manie.
The Club took to its official handles on Saturday to announce they had reached an agreement for the defender to spend another year with them alongside Clara Moreira.
The 37-year old emblematic defender [widely considered as the female Rigobert Song] joined the ambitious French Club from rivals AS Nancy Loraine last summer and had an impressive first season featuring in 11 games.
Manie who spent fours at Nancy before moving to Yzeure still displays a mastery of the French championship, having moved to France in 2016 from Romanian side Olimpia Cluj to AS Nancy Loraine.
The former FK Minsk center half with an over 15 year experience in the beautiful game will provide sufficient knowledge for Yzeure at the back next season.
The 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup 16th finalist is certainly a defender to count on when it comes to improving the performance for the just-ended season.
The former Canon Yaounde defender may just be the required spring in the step for the Club to charge towards the title and promotion next season.
Manie is 37, but still good, and doing well, as justified by her 11 appearances.
The intelligent sweeper with an eye for goal has won 73 caps for Cameroon.
She holds the record as the only woman to score for the Central African nation in four consecutive African Women’s Cup of Nations tournament.
