Indomitable Lions of Cameroon forward Christian Mougang Bassogog has returned to China for the first time in as many months after a lengthy spell away from his Chinese club, Shanghai Shenhua, per reports from Indomitable Lions tracker.
The 26-year-old forward has not played for the team since August 2021 due to Covid restrictions.
The former Aalborg man has been kept in isolation and observation after which he will join the rest of the squad in preparations for resumption of hostilities.
During his time away, Bassogog was training in Paris France and remained part of the Indomitable Lions team until last month when the new staff headed by Rigobert Song opted to constitute a team for the 2022 FIFA World Cup playoffs without the former Lion Blesse man.
The 2017 AFCON winner and Bronze medalist in 2021 joined the Club in February last year and only made 14 appearances for them, scoring four goals and assisting three.
The return of Bassogog gives him a chance to continue polishing his reputation in China where he is held in high esteem following his exploits at Henan Jianye and strong start to life at Shanghai Shenhua.
Football in China will resume in the weeks ahead.
