Italian tabloid tuttosport is reporting the interest of Italian Serie A side Torino in signing Cameroon’s 31-year-old Indomitable Lions captain Eric Maxing Choupo-Moting.
The Ex Stoke City forward is in the last of his two-year contract with the French giants and looks likely to leave in the summer.
Speculations linking the Mainz native away from the Parc de Prince have grown even before he could settled into life in Paris.
He has scored five goals and made one assist in a 2019 /2020 season in which he has been restricted to cameo appearances off the bench.
His departure in the upcoming window is nearly a sure event.
Fresh reports from Italy have it that, Torino are willing to offer him a two-year-deal plus an option for a third year with an annual salary of two million Euros.
Sources say the club has identified the ex Schalke forward as the man to replace misfiring Simeone Zaza and partner with Andrea Belotti next season.
Should the deal happen, he will reunite with Nicolas Nkoulou his international colleague who has been in Turin since 2017.
Torino have had a somewhat disappointing season. They occupy the 15th spot on the log in the Serie A.
Should the deal happen, Choupo-Moting will experience his fourth of Europe’s top five leagues with the only exception being the Spanish La Liga having had stints in Germany, England and France.
