Multiple German champions Bayern Munich came from behind to pick up an emphatic 4-1 victory at home to Spielvereinigung Greuther Fürth partly thanks to a goal from substitute Eric Maxim Choupo Moting.
Bayern were made to sweat for the three points after their barren first-half performance was made more complicated in the 42nd minute when Branimir Hrgota put the visitors ahead.
Greuther Fürth went for the break with the one-goal advantage but there was more in stock for the second-half.
Choupo came on in the 46th minute with his side down by one goal to nil.
Within the first minute of his introduction, Choupo combined with Robert Lewandoski for the latter level scores.
A 61st minute own goal from veteran midfielder Sebastian Griesbeck put Bayern ahead for the first time in the afternoon.
Niklas Sule played in Lewandowski to complete his brace and make it 3-1 in the 82nd minute before Choupo seal the victory in added time.
The game ended on a 4-1 score in favour of coach Julian Nagglesmann’s Bayern Munich.
Ulreich – Pavard, Upamecano, Hernández (Süle 53), Richards (Choupo-Moting 46) – Kimmich, Tolisso (Gnabry 25) – Sabitzer (Roca 87), Müller, Sané (Wanner 86) – Lewandowski
Linde – Meyerhöfer, Griesbeck, Viergever, Itter – Christiansen – Seguin (Green 68), Tillman – Dudziak (Nielsen 22) – Leweling (Bauer 62), Hrgota (Pululu 68)
32-year old Choupo has scored four goals in 11 Bundesliga games this season. In all competitions, he counts nine goals and four assists in 17 games.
The Match-Day 23 victory means Bayern lead second seeded Dortmund by six points after 23 games and ahead of their next League game away to Eintracht Frankfurt.
