Indomitable of Lions Cameroon and Bayern Munich forward Eric Choupo-Moting has scored his first Bundesliga goal in Bayern Munich colors this Saturday afternoon against Cologne.
The forward on a rare start for the German giants needed just 18 minutes to get off the mark in the competition.
12 minutes before the break, Robert Lewandowski doubled coach Hans Flicks’ side lead.
The defending champions took the two goal advantage to the break.
Bayern took the two goals lead into the break.
A minute after resumption, FC Koln pulled one back through Skhiri but the comeback wasn’t to be as Bayern reacted best.
The leaders dominated play in the second segment but lacked the cutting edge to hurt Cologne again.
Choupo-Moting was replaced in the 64th minute by Serge Gnabry.
Barely a minute after Choupo-Moting’s replacement, Bayern scored the third through Robert Lewandowski who took his tally in the game to two goals.
Substitute Serge Gnabry scored twice in quick succession in the 82nd and 85th minutes.
There wasn’t another goal till the end giving Bayern a 5-1 victory in the end.
Choupo-Moting has made eight appearances in the competition since joining Bayern Munich but also counts two cup goals in what has been an average start to life in Munich.
