South African League side Chippa United is in search of a new ground for their home matches.
Chippa who sits twelfth on the PSL log needed to get another stadium after their choice home stadium; Nelson Mandela Stadium was converted to a temporary hospital to fight the COVID-19.
The club’s CEO, Lukhanyo Mzinzi has revealed that they are in search of a new ground.
The club in their search intends to work with the Municipality to get the new ground around their present vicinity.
When asked if the club has found a new ground Mzinzi said ”Sport is not yet opened, it’s still prohibited to train as a group. So we are in the background talks, we were checking various options because the municipality has got other grounds like Wilson Stadium.
“So we are exploring other options but then, we still know it’s illegal for us to partake in training sessions in groups, so it doesn’t apply. To us, as much as we know we need our ground and we are used to it, human life is very important.”
Sisa Dukashe Stadium has also been used by the club as alternative venue down the years having relocated from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth in 2014.
