The Nigerian player opened her goal account for the season with two goals for the Chinese Super League Women’s side, Guangdong Meizhou Hakka as the team recorded a 2-0 win against Sichuan on Saturday.
Chinwendu Ihezuo scored her two goals in either half of the game.
The first goal came in the 37th minute before her second in the 89th minute.
With the goal, she became the first Nigerian player to score in the Chinese Women’s Super League this season and the third African player to do so after two Malawians.
Wuhan Jiangda and Malawi’s Tabitha Chawinga is the other African player that has scored in the league as she seats at the top of the goal scorer’s chart with six goals.
Chawinga’s compatriots, Temwa Chawinga have scored three goals for Wuhan Jiangda.
Wuhan Jiangda occupies the top position on the league table with 24 points.
Chinwendu Ihezuo’s side, Guangdong Meizhou Hakka occupies the seventh position in the 10-team Chinese Women’s Super League with nine points.
Guangdong Meizhou Hakka will next face Beijing Beikong on May 11, 2022.
