Match day 21 of the Chinese Super league was played partially on Friday 2nd August and completed on Saturday the 3rd, with none of these 3 Cameroon professionals; Frank Ohandza, Christian Bassogog, John Mary and Stephane Mbia being able to pick up victories for club.
The first up in action was Stephane Mbia and his Wuhan Zual side against Shanghai Shenhua.
Mbia’s team took the lead through an L. Baptistao strike at the 26th minute, but S. Kim’s brace for Shanghai Shenhua put Mbia and teammates on the back foot. It took an early equaliser from K. Kouassi at the 48th minute to salvage something for Wuhan Zual. This draw takes Mbia and teammates to 28 points and 7 place out of 16 in the Chinese Super league.
Still on Friday 2nd, John Mary played 90 minutes for Chinese Super league newcomers, Shenzhen FC and scored his team’s lone goal against Beijing Renhe in their 1-1 all tie. Mary’s goal was scored at the 26th minute and his team anticipated all 3 points until B. Zhu equalised at the 44th minute.
On Saturday followed Hanan Jianye and two Cameroonians; Bassogog and Ohandza against Tianjin Teda.
C. Bassogog found himself sitting it out and came in only in the second segment, while fellow compatriot Frank Ohandza started but was latter substituted in the course of the game. None of these two could help their team in the 2-0 defeat to Tianjin Teda on Saturday. A Sandro Wagner brace scored at the 66th and the 90th minute did the trick against Henan. Hernan Jianye are 11th out of 16 in the log with 24 points.
