Chinese second tier Championship side Shaanxi Changan have extended their unbeaten run to nine, on Tuesday thanks to a 2-0 at home to Beijing BSU, in a game Ndip Tambe Robert scored.
The Cameroonian striker was one of the scorers in the tricky fixture from which Shaanxi successfully picked all three points.
The match-day 22 encounter was settled by two goals in quick succession midway into the first-half. Nigeria’s Kingsley Onuegbu scored in the 25th minute and Ndip Tambe added a second three minutes later to settle the contest in favour of the host.
Chinese midfielder Wang Jamning provided the assist for both goals.
Both sides had chances to score more goals during the rest of the game but it wasn’t to be.
Tambe saw yellow for his troubles in the 43rd minute but lasted the entire game.
The host brought on another Cameroonian Raoul Loe in the final half hour, in place of the first goal scorer Kingsley, with the objective of sealing the midfield to ensure the victory was theirs.
The game ended on a 2-0 score, thus extending Shaanxi Changan’s unbeaten run to nine games as coach Kim Bong-gil enjoys a brilliant run to the end of the season.
Shaanxi Changan currently occupy the sixth spot on the log with 58 points to their credit, barely two games to end of the championship.
Tambe’s latest goal is his 12th in the league this season, and he is one of three Cameroonians in the top ten best scorers in the championship. The others are Raphael Messi Bouli of Nanjing city with 14 goals and Heilongjiang Ice City forward Donovan Ewolo with 13 goals.
In all, Zimbabwe’s Nyasha Mwushekwi is the lead scorer of the championship with 23 goals scored for Zhejiang professional.
Four of the top five scorers are Africans, with two Nigerians in the mix. This includes; Tambe’s club colleague Kingsley Onuegbu, whose 18 goals puts him in a tie with compatriot Moses Ogbu of leaders Wuhan Three Towns – two goals short of second best scorer Chisom Egbuchulam of Meizhou Hakka, from Nigeria too.
