MTN Cameroon has handed a two millions FCFA price money to PWD’s 19-year old forward Chem Hebert for picking up the man of the match award from the 2021.
The player was handed the cash before the kick off of the 2021-2022 season game pitting Bamboutos FC against PWD Bamenda.
Chem scored a bullet 15th minute goal against Astre last Sunday in the final of the 2021 cup of Cameroon and was named man of the match by the Rigobert Song commission.
The move means Chem’s first goal for PWD gives a first cup trophy to the Abakwa Boys and his most valuable trophy ever in football.
Previous winners of the man of the match award bagged home a million FCFA until 2020 when Jules Tchio of Stade Renard was handed a prize equivalent to Chem’s.
MTN who are donors of the recent prize money have just returned to FECAFOOT as official sponsors of the Elite championships for an unspecified duration.
Chem, a former player of Santos FC in his second season at PWD has the onus to lead the club’s frontline under the guidance of coach David Pagou this season.
