Chelsea has been named winners of the Women’s Super League, WSL title on an average Points Per Game, PPG, ratio, while Liverpool have been relegated.

When the season was suspended because of the coronavirus pandemic in March, Chelsea were one point behind leaders Manchester City with a game in hand.
Aston Villa, who were top of the Championship, will replace the WSL’s bottom club Liverpool next season.

It was decided on Monday, 25 May 2020, that the season would end with immediate effect.
According to British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC, the Football Association board reached a “majority decision” to decide final positions on a “basic points-per-game basis”, with promotion and relegation “determined on sporting merit”.

Chelsea and Manchester City will be England’s representatives in next season’s Women’s Champions League.

Nigerian, Ini Umotong was the only Super Falcons player playing in the Women Super League in England with Brighton and Hove Albion, but recent reports showed that she will be leaving the club at the end of the concluded season. It is hoped that she can get a suitable suitor in the WSL when next season kicks off.
