Stade Malien’s president of the committee of counselors has appointed Cheick Fantamady Diallo as the new president of the club.
Cheick Diallo was appointed on Friday to replace Boubacar Karamoko Coulibaly whose mandate came to an end over a week ago.
Cheick will manage the affairs of the 21-times champions of Mali until a new president is elected most likely after the CoronaVirus pandemic subsides.
One time player and Sporting director of the club, he returns to familiar sorroundings with huge experience having served as deputy coach of the senior national team of Mali.
He will be in charge of all sporting activities related to the club till after the elections.
The 2009 CAF Confederation Cup winners and the most successful club in Mali have not had it their way in terms of management in the last few months but still top group B of the domestic championship.
This leaves huge administrative repairs works in the hands of Cheick Fantamady.
The sporting club runs teams in football, Rugby, Basketball, field Athletics amongst other sports in different categories.
The 60-year-old club in the capital city of the West African Nations will count on the 69-year-old to lay the ground works for them to retain the topflight crown the last won in 2018.
