From Monday Gift, it is now becoming a four-player race for the top goalscorers as far as the 2021 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership is concerned.
Bayelsa Queens’ Charity Reuben after week seven joined the likes of Monday Gift (FC Robo Queens), Elizabeth Zirike (Edo Queens), and Yemisi Samuel (Osun Babes) after scoring her fourth goal in the course of her side’s 1-2 away win over Abia Angels.
Reuben is not new to the highest goalscorers list as she finished as the top goalscorer in 2018 when Bayelsa Queens won the league before moving to BIIK Kazygurt of Kazakhstan.
Since her return to the Yenegoa based side, Charity Reuben alongside Anjor Mary, Joy Jerry, and Precious Vincent’s goals has ensured that the Moses Aduku tutored side remained at the top of the league table after their recent defeat to Delta Queens.
Odubanjo Dominance (Delta Queens), Oghenebrume Ikehua (Rivers Angels), Rosemary Adesina (Royal Queens), and Joy Jerry (Bayelsa Queens) with three goals can still dream about ending the season as the league top goalscorers.
It’s still a long stretch with 19 games to go this season. A consistent goal-scoring form can lead to another player joining the race before the end of the season.
