The Moroccan football federation led by president Faouzi Lekjaa has put an end to the training camp of the intermediate Atlas lions team with immediate effect from Sunday.
A release from the football body ordered an end to all activities of the defending champions of the upcoming CHAN competition citing the outbreak of the CoronaVirus disease as the reason behind the decision.
Morocco had been preparing to come to Cameroon for a title defense next month but the country has now followed the move of other African countries whose football has been affected by the global Pandemic.
The decision to break camp two weeks before the competition puts the country’s participation to doubts though late last week their FA refuted media reports of planning to boycott the competition.
Morocco has registered one death and two cases of persons living with the Virus.
