A team of technical experts from the Confederation of African Football are expected in Cameroon before the end of the current week.
Our sources in Cairo have told kick442.com that the team will be visiting the Central African nation for its first inspection mission of infrastructures set aside to host the CHAN 2020 competition recently moved from Ethiopia to Cameroon.
The CHAN is a CAF organized tournament for players plying their trade in their national Championships.
The 6th edition of the 16 nations competition will require the same kind of logistics for the previous 2019 AFCON tournament Cameroon won the rights to host in 2015.
The upcoming event in Cameroon was handed to the 2016 AWCON host nation to prepare the grounds for the 2021 AFCON tournament to take place in the country.
The need to use CHAN 2020 as “preparatory aid” is one of the reasons why both parties are in talks to align the kick off dates of both events to be similar if not the same.
