The first training session of the Warriors of Zimbabwe comes up this January 14. The session has been programmed for 6 pm WAT (7 pm CAT).
The team arrived Cameroon this morning but were delayed at the airport for COVID-19 test, of which none returned a positive result.
The Zimbabwean team has selected a squad of 23 players. Tawanda Nyamandwe who tested positive for COVID-19 has been replaced by Thomas Chideu.
Zimbabwe will play the opening game of the CHAN against host Cameroon on January 16 at 5 pm local time. Zimbabwe is in Group A alongside host Cameroon, Mali and Burkina Faso.
Zimbabwe gets things off in the opening game on 16 January at 5 pm. The country will be in action on day two against Burkina Faso (20 January at 8 pm). The last game for Zimbabwe is against Mali (24 January at 8 pm).
The Warriors of Zimbabwe will be making their fifth appearance I the tournament having missed out in 2018. The team’s best performance this far is a semi-finalist at the 2016 edition.
