Togo home based football team have qualified for Cameroon 2020 Championship of African Nations (CHAN 2020) ahead of Nigeria after a 4-3 aggregate triumph over Nigeria.

After defeating Nigeria 4-1 in the first leg, a brace from Sikiru Alimi in the 8th and 71st minutes couldn’t qualify Nigeria for the tournament.

In the 19th minute Alimi after putting Nigeria ahead had another chance but his effort was saved by Togo goal keeper.
Alimi again went close in a goalmouth scramble in the 25th minute with the goal keeper beaten, his goal bound effort was cleared off the line.
Sunusi went close with another well taken effort in the 29th minute.

In the second half, Nwagua’s header goes inches off target in the 58th minute.

Nigeria finished third at their inaugural CHAN appearance in 2014 under the tutelage of Late Stephen Keshi and were beaten finalist last year in Morocco.
