Thousands of fans flocked the streets in Conakry as they welcomed the Syli Nationale of Guinea who won third-place at the just concluded Africa Nations Championship, CHAN.
Guinea finished third after beaten Cameroon 2-0. It is the second time that thwarte country is finishing on the third position at the CHAN after doing so in 2016.
Pictures from Conakry showed the Guinean team on an open carriage with thousands of supporters lining the streets and some on motorcycles, cars and others.
It was a brilliant performance of the Syli Nationale who finished top of Group D that contained Zambia, Tanzania and Namibia. The country collected 5 points, winning one game and drawing 2, scoring six goals.
At the quarter-finals, Guinea outsmarted Rwanda but met stiff resistance in the semi-finals in Mali. During the game both sides could not be separated as the game, ended 0-0. At penalty shootouts, it was Mali who defeated Guinea 5-4.
