The 2020 CHAN preparatory friendly pitting DR Congo against Cameroon’s home-based players which was initially scheduled to take place on February 20th 2020 has been moved to February 16th 2020.
The decision to bring the game to an earlier date means the Cameroon Vs Congo Brazzaville game which was initially scheduled for February 17th, 2020 has been rescheduled to February 20th, 2020.
The above adjustments makes February 17th a free day and a day for all countries to focus on the draw for the 2020 event to take place in Yaoundé-Cameroon.
16 nations amongst which is defending champions, Morocco and debutants Togo are expected to enter the draw.
The 26 Cameroonian players summoned by coach Yves Clement Arroga for the triangular friendly tournament in Congo Brazzaville left Cameroon this Friday.
Simon Omossola and his mates will be based at the Elonda Hotel in Brazzaville till February 21st when they return to Cameroon to continue their preparations for the April 2020 African Nations Championship,CHAN competition on home soil.
The sixth edition of the 2020 CHAN competition will take place in Cameroon between April 4th-25th 2020.
It is Cameroon’s first major tournament on home soil since the 1972 AFCON.
The two games in DR Congo will take the number of international friendlies to three games before they return home to face Rwanda on the 24th February 2020.
