The Mediterranean Knights of Libya have played 1#1 thrilling game against the Leopards of DR Congo in their second match of group B

The encounter played at the Japoma Stadium in Douala saw Libya coming in with an early goal from Captain Muetaz Husayn 5minutes and was equalized by Masasi Amede 93minutes.

Both side back home a point each hoping for better days in the tournament.

First Half 2

DR Congo officially kick started the encounter at 5:00pm but nothing was materialized from their first touch of the ball.

Captain Muetaz Husayn of Libya who has been at the forefront championing pressure did same one minute into to the game.

Libya continued mounting pressure leading to the first corner kick of the game taken by Rabia Alshadi, he sent a long one into the 18meters box, a beautiful header from Al Ahly Tripoli’s striker Muetaz Husayn earned Libya the first goal within five minutes of play.

Surprised it was for the Leopards of DR Congo, the goal destabilised their play style both in the defense and attack lines. DR Congo recuperated play, took no time to get to attempts, a header from Makabi Glody and a shot from Fiston Mayele were all unmaterialistic

Muetaz Husayn once more had a golden opportunity to make it a Brace for Libya, the bravery of goalkeeper Nathan Mabruki frustrated his plans.

Fiston Kalala Muyele in search for an equalizer for his team, found it very difficult penetrating the back of the net. A powerful shot was sent towards goalkeeper Ahmed Abdulsalam Azzaqah, which almost led to a goal but swift as he was he got hold of the ball.

Barely 42 minutes of regular play time in the first half, Masasi Amede missed out on a spectacular one which would have normalise things for both sides.

First half Libya 1#0 DR Congo

Second half

Upon return, DR Congo continued their struggling, making good passes and ensuring frightening kicks. This yielded no fruits for them

Difficult one it has been for the leopards of DRC Congo. With that, they did not give up. 72 minutes of play, Ciel Ebengo Ikoko transformed a free-kick to a tactical shot aiming for an equalizer, this attempt met its waterloo when goal keeper Ahmed Azzaqah went up high, sendinh the ball out of the field of play.

Libya
Muetaz Husayn and Rabia Alshadi, Abdullah Abdulrahman were all replaced by Anas Hamad, Ibrahem Bodabous and Alaa Masaud

DRC

Makabi Glody, Fiston Kalala, Chico Ushindi all gave way to Ricky Tulenge, John’s Kabangu Gedeon Ingoli.

Most interesting moments of the game, came during the three minutes of additional time. Several throw Ins, free-kicks and corner kicks featured.

Wonderful moment for the Leopards came when Musasi Amed launched a hard shot, taking goalkeeper Azzaqah by storm, went through to the goal post, making it 1#1 on either sides.
