The intermediate Lions of Cameroon have recorded a comfortable 2-0 win against local side AS Fortuna of Mfou this Sunday in a warm-up game at the CAF Excellence center in Mbankomo-Cameroon.
The Lions technical staff gave more minutes to new call ups Christian Mayo, Felix Oukine and Mamoudou who all started the game.
The boys of coach Martin Ntoungou Mpile endured a difficult opening 30 minutes of the game failing to create a real chance in the final third.
AS Fortuna came close to scoring the opener in the 37th minute when a wicked 27th meters effort from a dead-ball situation was pushed wide by Epane Litizi at the expense of a corner.
The effort turned out to be the lone real effort for the boys of coach Guy Djiepnang as both sides went on the break on a 0-0 score.
In-form forward Hapmo Man Ykre scored the opener in the 69th minute before fellow substitute Junior Kemadjou converted a 78th minute spot-kick to make it 2-0 for coach Martin Ntoungou Mpile’s Intermediate Lions.
The game ended on a two-nil score as Boung Joel and his defensive colleagues displayed a near performance all afternoon.
The win is the second in a row without conceding for the Lions who return to camp for the last three days before their December break on Wednesday.
