The intermediate Lions of coach Clement Arroga have picked up a two – nil win against Bamboutos FC of Mbouda in their third friendly in Douala, at the Omnisport Annex stadium, on Tuesday 21st.

The two coaches (Clement Arroga and Laurent Djam of Bamboutos) agreed to play the game in a 50 minute per half format, so as to better prepare their players physically.

Under the watchful eyes of the minister of Sports Narcisse Mouelle Kombi and FA boss Seidou Mbombo Njoya, the intermediate Lions hit the ground running with an early goal, the beneficiary being Nkambe Thierry of AS Fortuna, at the 7th minute.

Bamboutos FC then got settled as the game went on, with a couple of players like new signing Koupit Mani impressing for the Mangwa Boys.

Samuel Nlend was not easily having his way upfront with the center back pairing of Rostand Moukap and Etame closing him down earlier, but he afforded himself some time with some dazzling movement at the 16th minute and went on to miss.

Rene Ndi went on to pull a superb save off Leonel Kibiem from his curled effort at the 26th minute.

The goal scorer, Thierry Nkambe was carried out due to a hamstring injury and was replaced by Simo Berteau just before the 50th minute mark.

The second half was less eventful and the only sparkle came courtesy of second half substitute Épée Dipita Leo at the 86th minute to make it 2-0.

Out of four League 1 opponents faced, the intermediate Lions have had three wins and a draw.
