The intermediate Lions of Cameroon touched down in the seaside resort town of Limbe this morning of February 1 as they gear up for their semi-final on Wednesday.
The boys of Martin Ndtoungou Mpile will face the Atlas Lions of Morocco in the second semi-final at 8 pm local time at the Limbe Omnisport Stadium. Cameroon heads into this crucial encounter that determines who will be in the final after dispatching DR Congo at the quarter-finals stage.
To prepare for that crucial encounter against Morocco, the training session of Cameroon was slated this February 1 at 6 pm local time at the Limbe middle Farms Stadium. Coach Mpile is expected to assess the fitness levels of his players during this evening session to know who is in contention to start and those who will be called upon from the bench.
Backed by Captain Banga Solomon, Eteme Ngombe, Cameroon has looked impeccable at the backline. The ever-reliable goalkeeper Haschou Karido has also impressed in the tournament thus far.
According to reports Striker, Jacques Zoua is in contention to begin the game against Morocco. Zoua, a 2017 AFCON winner with the senior national team has missed the past three games for the intermediate Lions after suffering an injury in the first game against Zimbabwe.
With the home advantage greatly in favour of the Lions, they will have to contend with a strong Moroccan side that has also looked impeccable, and entertaining to watch. Morocco is looking to become the first team to the competition twice consecutively while Cameroon is looking for their first title.
