A goal of the tournament contender strike from Emmanuel Chabula ensured that his Zambian team won all three points against Tanzania. It was a beautiful cross from the right winger Collins Sikombe that met the boot of Chabula who directed the ball into the roof of the Tanzanian net to double the lead Collins Sikombe had established.
The Nkwazi FC player was a joy to watch in the game. He was in close connection with Sikombe as both players looked telepathic to each other.
Chabula made his international debut on June 2, 2019 in a 4-2 penalty victory over Malawi. He scored his first goal for the senior team at the 89th minute of that particular encounter.
The two goals from Zambia ensured that for the first time in 13 matches played the score line reads 2-0. In all the matches played since the opening day of the tournament on January 16, no team has been able to score more than 1 goal.
Chabula who began his senior career at Kitwe United (2018 to 2019) moved to Nkwazi FC in 2019. If the man of the match award was not giving to his colleague Sikombe, Emmanuel Chabula would have been the man of the match. He was exceptional in the encounter against Tanzania.
The Chopolopolo of Zambia currently leads Group D with 3 points. Their next encounter will come up against Guinea on January 23. Emmanuel Chabula will be hoping that the exceptional display he had against Tanzania will be replicate against Guinea. Should that display be the case, Zambia looks surely to qualify for the knockout stage of the competition, with that set for the team by Coach Micho.
