Despite being eliminated from the ongoing 6th edition of the Africa Nations Championship, CHAN, the Coach of the Democratic Republic of Congo Florent Ibenge has said he is satisfied with the infrastructure here in Cameroon.
Florent Ibenge was speaking after the game as his side was beaten 2-1 by the Intermediate Lions of Cameroon. DRC had their hopes up of making it to the semis after Lilepo had opened the scoring for the Leopards at the 22nd minute.
The team could not maintain that lead as Cameroon equalized through Yannick N’Djeng at the 29th minute and completed their comeback at the 41st minute through Felix Oukine.
“Going back I will say that I am satisfied with the infrastructure here in Cameroon,” Coach Florent Ibenge said
The coach, a former winner of the Africa Nations Championship has tasked the Confederation of African Football, CAF to do well in making such infrastructures available to other nations who do not yet have.
“But I also want to say that CAF should go to other countries that these infrastructures have not been built and build such. Not just fields, but training grounds, hotels, roads, and others,” He said.
“Let other countries know that football is a developmental aspect. The works here have given people jobs“ and changed their lives. Congratulations to the construction company.”
It should be recalled that before the Leopards were eliminated from the competition, they had topped Group B with 7 points. Their group contained neighbours Congo Brazzaville, Niger and Libya.
