Intermediate Lions of Cameroon head coach Martin Ntoungou Mpile has handed a maiden call up to newly-signed Bamboutos FC Christian Mayo.
The former Boca Junior midfielder has been quite impressive in pre-season with the Mangwa Boys since joining the Club in September.
The 22-year-old sparkled during the 2020 Bepanda Info pre-season tournament in Douala.
Mayo joins 27 others join will assemble at the CAF Excellence center in Mbankomo-Cameroon from Sunday.
Mayo is amongst seven midfielders included on the list of players to begin a ten days block training in Yaoundé before engaging in a PRE-CHAN2020 tournament in January next year.
The player became a global subject of interest in 2018, when his then Club Boca Junior identified malfunctions in his cardiovascular organs prompting suggestions of an immediate retirement from football as a teenager.
Mayo, once a subject of interest from French Ligue 1 PSG, returned to native Cameroon in 2018 and decided to get treated to ensure a continuation in his career.
That dream of reviving his career started Bamboutos FC of Mbouda a few months back and now he has a chance to represent his country.
