As usual, group A always takes the lead in unfolding activities of the African Nations Championship CHAN 2020.
This Sunday will conclude the group stage games for pool A. Two matches have been programmed. Host country Cameroon will be hosted by third place Burkina Faso at Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium meanwhile bottom place Zimbabwe will play host to Mali in Douala’s Japoma Stadium at 8:00pm.
Zimbabwe will want to confuse the Eagle’s plans of qualifying for the next stage of the CHAN 2020 while Burkina Faso plans on breaking the lions to head top. Who then will go ahead?
Yaounde’s Game
Cameroon
Intermediate Lions of Coach Martin Ndtoungou Mpile faces Burkina Faso in a dangerous road walk ahead. The lions have played two group stage games, 1#0 victory over Zimbabwe in CHAN opener and 1#1 draw with Mali.
This I must say will not be an easy race for both sides. Cameroon tops group A with four points.
Burkina Faso
Three points penned against her name after two games. 1#0 defeat against Mali and 3#1 victory over Zimbabwe.
Coach Seydou Zerbo of Burkina Faso and boys will not want to let go any opportunity when they meet with the Lions at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium.
Douala’s Games

The Warriors are placed bottom with no point penned against her name. Automatically they have lost the opportunity to proceed further in the competition.
Zimbabwe has played two encounters already. A 1#0 lost against host Cameroon and a 3#1 defeat from Burkina Faso. This will be a chance for coach Zdravko Logarišić and boys to make Mali work harder for an eventual qualification.
Mali
Eagles of Mali have had a stable performance in the tournament. The boys of coach Nouhoum Diane will do everything possible to by pass Zimbabwe for a ticket ahead.
Mali swipe passed Burkina Faso on day one 1#0 and played a 1#1 draw against Intermediate Lions of Cameroon. This could be an opportunity to go pass the group stage level. Mali is coming in with four points penned to her name
The game will be played simultaneously in Yaounde and the 50,000 seater Japoma Stadium in Douala at 8:00pm, Sunday January 24, 2021.
