Contrary to the communique released by the Confederation of African Football CAF on December 14, 2020, recent modifications have been made to suit the pandemic era which the CHAN is being organized.
On December 14, 2020, CAF indicated that for the opener, group stage and quarter final games of CHAN 2020, only 25% of spectators were to be allowed in the various stadia. Meanwhile 50% supporters were to be granted access in the semi-finals and final of the game.
Based on another release dated February 1, 2021, from CAF Secretary General Abdelmounaïm Bah, the 25% earlier allocated for the opener, group stage and quarter finals will be maintained throughout the competition. This will include the semi-finals and final.
The decision preceeds a meeting held by CAF Organising committee of championships in African Nations January 29, 2021, were it was agreed.
All these is being influenced by the coronavirus pandemic and thus CAF has called for the respect of strict barrier measures against the pandemic
