CAF via an official document has asked Libya on their availability to participate in the upcoming CHAN 2020 to be hosted in Cameroon.
Tunisia announced her unavailability despite having qualified for the CHAN 2020. The release made by CAF on Wednesday 22, has respected their decision and asked of the availability of Libya to partake in the competition.
Content of the release;
Subject: Withdrawal of the Tunisian Football Federation from CHAN, Cameroon 2020
Dear General Secretary,
We hereby inform you that the Tunisian Football Federation has informed us of the withdrawal of their national team from the next edition of CHAN, Cameroon 2020.
Reference to article 86 of the registrations of the competition: ” if a team withdraws after its qualification in the final tournament, but before its actual start, it shall be replaced by the team classified next in the group of the team in the question. In default, the group to which belongs to the forfeiting team shall be composed of three teams.”
Therefore, since the last team eliminated by Tunisia before their qualification was the national team of Libya, CAF would like to know if your Federation wishes to replace Tunisia to participate in the final tournament of the CHAN 2020 that would take place in Cameroon from four to 25 April 2020.
Please send us your response before 28 January 2020 at 12 noon to allow us to take the necessary measures in this regard.

Libya was eliminated at the last huddle of the CHAN qualifiers by a home and away scoreline of 1-0 on September 21, 2019, before finally bowing out on October 20, 2019, as they were beaten 1-2 on home soil.
The Tunisia FA pulled out of the tourney, mid – December using their official Twitter account due to the abrupt change of the kick off date from January 2020 to April 2020.
