Ahead of their last group C game against Rwanda tomorrow, assistant coach of the Togolese CHAN team, Frank Ndote in his press conference today hinted that eliminating Nigeria in the qualifiers is one of the biggest driving force for his young side.

The Togolese began their CHAN campaign with a 1-0 loss to Morocco before beating Uganda 2-1 in the second game and should they avoid defeat tomorrow against Rwanda could seal their spot in the quarter-finals.

While speaking to newsmen, Frank Ndote made it clear it will be difficult working without the first team coach, Claude Le Roy who is out due to Corona Virus.

“It is challenging not working with our first team coach. The game will be difficult because of the absence of the coach and the quality of our opponent.

“we are lucky to be here in this tournament. Our players are trying their best. The team is quite young and doing well.

“The main motivation is that the team is quite young and haven’t played in the league for some time. The team wants to play out their best as a young team to be able to be seen and get better moves abroad after this tournament. This is the greatest motivating force, he said while also stressing that;

“Beating Nigeria made us to be lucky by qualifying for this tournament. This is our debut tournament and eliminating Nigeria during the qualifiers is one of the biggest driving force for the young team.”
