Intermediate Lions of Cameroon forward Yannick Ndjeng has hit the ground running almost immediately under coach Martin Ntoungou Mpile.
The 29-year-old forward scored twice in the team’s three-nil win against legendary Canon of Yaounde in a friendly at the CAF Excellence center in Mbankomo-Cameroon this Wednesday.
Having started from the bench, the experienced AS Futuro of Mfou forward watch his side take the lead in the 45th minute through Man Ykre who was in charge of the sharp point of the front line.
Ndjeng came on just before the start of the second segment and took just three minutes to score the Lions second which was his first goal in the team.
11 minutes later the forward doubled his tally off an assist from Joel Ebanda to the delight of AS Futuro officials watching from the stands.
The second goal meant Ndjeng became the first player to score a brace for the Lions since the team started preparations for the upcoming African Nations Championship over a year ago.
Ndjeng signed for AS Futuro in the build for the current season hoping to help the Club reach new heights in the center region.
His return home made the former Esperance of Tunis, FC Sion, Neman Grodno and JSM Bejaia striker eligible for the intermediate Lions of Cameroon and coach Martin Ntoungou Mpile has now turned to the player for all of his experience in the beautiful game.
