After failing to secure visas to travel to Zadar, Croatia for the 2022 edition of the Women’s Volleyball Challenger Cup, the Volleyball Lionesses have been disqualified from the competition.
The Cameroon Women’s volleyball team had earlier confirmed that they will not be able to participate in the competition after failing to secure visas and that was confirmed on Friday when the team forfeited its quarterfinal match against Puerto Rico.
The Volleyball Lionesses of Cameroon was one of eight countries to take part in the Women’s volleyball Challenger cup alongside hosts Croatia, Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Kazakhstan, and Puerto Rico.
With the medal matches of the competition to be played this Sunday, July 31, 2022, the winners will qualify for the 2023 edition of the Volleyball Nations League.
The volleyball lionesses of Cameroon are the current holders of the African Volleyball Championship after winning the title in 2017, 2019 and 2021.
