19-year old Cameroonian forward Wamba Leonel Djuffo previously of Jurmala Spartaks has in the Latvian Virsliga has joined Algerian top-flight side Chabab Riaohi Belouizdad.
A successful 14-goal debut season has ensured that the former Under-17 Lions forward earned him the top scorer award in the Latvian championship and now a contract in Algeria.
Wamba has penned a two-year deal with an option for an additional year.
The ‘big’ and powerful striker featured in 24 League games in the last season and achieved the goal scoring feat by netting 14 goals in 11 of those games, including two braces.
Noted for his physically imposing style of play, plus his great heading ability and intelligence in the box, Wamba is expected to impact Chabab’s upcoming season.
Wamba has scored goals in all of his previous clubs and is expected to do more in Algeria.
The former Aigle of Moungo striker and winner of the 2019 Under-17 African cup of Nations Tournament with Cameroon is expected to stay in Algeria and develop into a more potent forward.
