After five days of exciting group stage action at the 2021 Women’s Club African Championship, four teams have made it to the semi-finals including Nigerian sole representative; Customs of Nigeria.
It is Nigeria Customs Service’s first semifinal ticket in the history of the competition.
The team finished second in its pool after winning it last game against AS Douanes of Burkina Faso, winning 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-11).
They finished second in Pool B with 11 points. 4 behind Carthage of Carthage of Tunisia.
The Nigerian team dispatched National Alcohol of Ethiopia in straight sets (3-0) in the first game, ran over Rukinzo of Burundi in the second match (3-0), lost to Carthage of Tunisia 3-0, defeated ASEC of Mimosas of Cote d’ voire 3-0, beat giant Kenya Pipeline 3-2 before overcoming its opponents from Burkina Faso on Monday.
Two teams qualify from each pool. From Pool A are Tunisian champions CS Sfaxien and Prisons from Kenya while from Pool B we have Carthage also of Tunisia and Customs of Nigeria.
The Nigerian Customs will square up against Pool A winners and Tunisian champions CS Sfaxien while Kenya Prisons go head to head against unbeaten Carthage of Tunisia.
