Customs of Nigeria’s push for their first final of the Women’s African Club Championship was halted by Tunisian champions, CS Sfaxien on Wednesday night.
Nigerian Customs Service who had reached their first semi final in history lost in straight sets 3-0 at Kelibia, Tunisia.
The Customs did well to hold the Tunisian giants in the first set of the tie, but were overcome at the end losing 25-20.
The Tunisians completely dominated the next set beating the Nigerian sole representative by 25-11 points.
By the third set, it looked like all was settled as the Customs could not stand the fire power of their opponents losing the set 25-16.
The Customs will seek to put the loss behind them and finish strongly as they play the Prisons of Kenya for the bronze medal in a couple of days time.
Meanwhile, CS Sfaxien reached the African women’s club championship for the first time in their history, with the win over Nigeria Customs.
The final pitches two Tunisian clubs as CSS. will play against domestic rivals CF Carthage.
