Uganda’s inability to host the CAVB due to a change in her administration has led to the cancellation of the 2020 women’s U20African nations volleyball championship by FIBV.
Uganda who was to play host to the 2020 women’s U20 CAVB has declared her non readiness due to a change in her administration.
The east African nation pleaded for a change of the competition’s date by two months.
According to the guidelines of the FIBV constitution, all aged group competitions should be played before the 28th of February and that has made Uganda’s plea futile.
It is worth noting that, if Uganda’s plea were to be granted,it would have resulted in a clash with the preparations for the world championship according to FIBV.
As a result of this cancellation, the CAVB is obliged to use the FIBV ranking to determine Africa’s representatives to the world championship.
