Spanish coach Juan Carlos Garrido has been appointed head coach of Moroccan

Spanish coach Juan Carlos Garrido has been appointed head coach of Moroccan club Wydad Casablanca. His appointment was made public Tuesday February 25, 2020.

He will be replacing French coach Sebastien Desabre, who parted ways with the club and has spent barely 2 months in the club and helping the club qualify for the African champions league also topping the Botola league. Sebastian took to social media to say despite the difficult moments the team qualified for the quarter finals.

“During this transitional period where I agreed to help the club, we were able, despite the difficulties encountered, to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League and continue to stay at the top of the championship,” Desabre wrote on social media.

“I mostly want to thank President Said Naciri and his committee for the confidence, the fans for their unconditional support and especially my players with whom I spent wonderful moments. I am convinced that the best is yet to come for the club. I also wish good luck to Coach Garrido for the upcoming assignments.”

Before Garrido’s appointment to Wydad, he was the boss of Tunisian giants Etoile du Sahel and was sacked earlier this month.

According to a press release from Wydad, following the signing of the contract, Garrido completed his tasks by conducting the training camp currently set for the first team in preparation for the quarter-finals of the Caf Champions League on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at Mohamed V Stadium in Casablanca,”

Garrido is expected to play the quarter finals of the African champions league Etoile du Sahel on the 7th of March 2020 which is his former club were he was boss.
