Potential Indomitable Lions of Cameroon defender Yannick Joseph M’Bone was one of the scorers in his side’s 1-2 home defeat to aspiring French Ligue 2 champions Troyes in match-day 39 of the second tier championship on Saturday.
The fixture which had to have two Cameroonians as the visitors Troyes had midfielder Tristan Dingome on their books ended up having just M’Bone as the former was not even listed ob the match sheet.
Though Troyes dominated the early exchanges of the game, M’Bone put the host ahead in the 20th, scoring his first goal of the season in his 33rd game.
That lead will be kept till the break though all along the host looked like they were living dangerously.
Barely six minutes into the second segment, F Tardieu whipped the ball pass goalkeeper Marcin Bułka from the penalty spot to make it 1-1.
Y Touzghar scored the second in the 71st minute to make it 2-1 for the visitors.
It got from bad to worse for the host when R Mulumba was sent off in the 83rd minute, leaving his side with a man down and a goal behind in a game they led and controlled in the first segment.
Troyes in their continues promotion push kept the lead till full-time thus winning for the 22nd occasion in 36 games this season.
The defeat once again highlights Chateuroux’s problems all season as they couldn’t hold their lead for the umpteenth time.
Chateuroux sits at the base of the championship with just 22 points from 36 games and so are sure to be relegated to the third tier championship at the end of the season.
