Indomitable of Lions Cameroon and Saint Etienne’s center-half Harold Moukoudi was on target in his Club’s 3-2 defeat at home to RC Lens on Wednesday.
Harold started for the Greens at home while compatriot midfielder Yvan Neyou was left on the bench against an RC Lens side whose trainer didn’t have Cameroon’s Ignatius Ganago.
Harold Moukoudi was booked in the 19th minute of the game.
Florian Sotoca put the visitors ahead in the 20th minute from the penalty spot.
Arnaud Kalimuendo made it two-nil for Lens barely four minutes later.
It was looking like a tough evening for the host.
Moukoudi pulled one back for the host 40 minute into the encounter off an assist from Adil Aouchiche.
That goal gave Claude Puel’s team the confidence to fight back their way into the game.
Though both sides came close to scoring, there wasn’t a goal again till the break.
At half-time it was one for visitors RC Lens and zero for the host Saint Etienne.
Both sides returned for the second segment more willing but looked the better side, dominating possession but lacking cutting-edge to take their numerous chances earlier on.
In an attempt to find their way back into the game Claude Puel introduced in the 71st minute.
It took up to the 93rd minutes of the second segment for the host to multiply their lead with a third goal from David Costa.
Saint Etienne won a penalty which was converted by Denis Bouanga in the 95th minute.
Moukoudi and Neyou ended the encounter as it finished 3-2 for RC Lens who did not need the services of Ignatius Ganago going by the results.
Moukoudi’s goal in the matchday 28 fixture is his third in 20 games in the league this season and he has an assist to his name.
Saint Etienne are currently ranked 15th in the 20-clubs championship with 30 points accumulated from 28 games while Lens have accumulated 44 points, reason they are 5th.
Saint Etienne are away to SCO Angers of Stephane Bahoken next while Lens will continue their European football chase away at Metz.
