Former Braga Feminine forward Farida Machia Machia has scored on her debut for aspiring Cameroon Women’s Guinness Super League championship side Awa Filles to earn a hard-fought three points on the road against Ebolowa FC.
Cameroon Internationals Farida Machia, Tantoh Melvis, Tabe Brenda started for the visitors against the host of Lioness defender Augustine Ejangue.
In the sunny afternoon at the bare ground Nkovos Stadium, last season’s deputy champions struggled to get it going their way.
Both sides failed to get the opener in the first 45 minutes.
It took 25 minutes of the second segment for 29-year-old Machia to score a great goal and the only of the game as coach Ibrahim’s side shred off off the gritty FC Ebolowa side.
Awa Filles went on to defend the lead to the full-time whistle.
The win is the Club’s first of the campaign obtained in extreme difficulty.
