Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon starting XI with Estelle Johnson

Sports Writer,

Zambia is yet to lose an away game in the Tokyo Olympic qualifying tournament – perhaps a reason why they are in this stage of the competition and why Cameroon needs to double efforts.

Zambia was scheduled to play four games in four previous rounds but won through general forfeiture against Angola and Zimbabwe before sweeping past Botswana and Kenya to perfectly set up an intriguing finale against Cameroon. This area gives team Cameroon an advantage having had more games under their belt.

The girls of coach Bruce Mwape defeated Botswana home and away with a goal coming from Mwakapila at home and a Chanda brace away to defeat Botswana in round before they defeated Kenya three — two on aggregate after a draw in Kenya and a one — nil victory in Zambia for the She-polopolo.

Cameroon on their part started their campaign in Addis Abeba against Ethiopia with a 1-1 draw, they later played a virgin draw at home to move to round two.

In round two, they beat DR Congo two nil in Yaounde before accepting a harmless two one defeat in the away game.

They will follow that up with a 2-1 aggregate win over Ivory Coast with all goals scored in the second leg game in Yaounde.

Zambia on their part emerged victorious by one -nil in one of their recent meetings while Cameroon won by two goals to one in another. Though many would argue that Cameroon did not go along with key players in the 2018 COSAFA Women’s cup.

Having looked at all these, Zambia or Cameroon didn’t perhaps get this far by chance so let the leather object circulate to the rhythm of the better side.

It is definitely Zambia’s biggest game in Women’s Football history and a chance for the Lionesses to show their skills for the first time since winning the CAF team of the year Award.

The crunching encounter to begin in few hours from now.
