63-year-old Martin Ntoungou Mpile is the coach of Cameroon’s intermediate lions’ team! appointed on October 21st, 2020 to replace Yves clément Aroga who was already fine-tuning strategies even without a domestic league with just three months left for the CHAN.
Ntoungou Mpile enjoyed stints as coach at various categories of the national teams and his best job was when he coached the Olympic lions in the 2008 Beijing Olympics which ended in tears.
Since then, coach Ntoungou had not been on the forefront of domestic football and his appointment to replace his predecessor came as a surprise to millions of football lovers and pundits in his country Cameroon.
Ntoungou Mpile is noted for using the traditional tactical 4:4:2 formation which has been his strength. In the ongoing CHAN tournament, Mpile’s foot soldiers have scored just two goals (by Banga a defender) since the tournament started yet, miraculously went through to the second round from group A with just 4 points, behind group winners Mali on 7.

In the rivals Camp of DR Congo, the team coached by aced and modern Florent Ibenge is reputed for being more flexible in his tactical formation with his preferred display of 4:3:3 always brought him glory. DR Congo qualified as winners of group
Both sides go head to head on Saturday 30th January in what the world of football considers the clash of the titans and the biggest game of Total CHAN 2020. Both sets of fans have a sure-real possibility of concluding this game on what happens next in the competition.
