As build up to the U-17 Afcon gain steam, several nations had planned to land in host country Morocco at least one week to their opening fixtures. Such is the case with the indomitable lions for Samuel Eto’o’s country Cameroon who’s FA had submitted all requirements to the Moroccan diplomatic mission in Yaoundé 72 hours prior to their planned departure. The U-17 lions were due to travel to Morocco on Tuesday March 3, but unfortunately had not received any feedback from the embassy.
Cameroon had planned a friendly encounter for March 6 against Tanzania who is also suffering same fate from the Moroccan diplomatic mission in Dar Es Salaam. A situation which certainly affects the psychology of teams coming into the Maghreb country.
Cameroon’s FA today rescheduled the flight plan of the 25 selected players and staff members for March 7, mainwhile the team will continue training at the Yaoundé Omnisports annex stadium until visas are issued.
Cameroon is logged in group C and will take on the Teranga lions of Senegal in the competition opener on March 15 to ensure her Title defense.
