The Under-20 national selection of Cameroon have booked a ticket for the 2020 Under-20 UNIFFAC final currently taking place in Malabo-Equatorial Guinea.
The boys of coach Christophe Ousmanou booked qualification for the final and next year’s Under-20 AFCON tournament in Mauritania following Congo Brazzaville’s 2-1 victory against DR Congo this Saturday.
DR Congo came into Saturday’s fixture hoping to get at least a win to stand a chance of qualification.
Unfortunately, they led but went on to lose by two goals to one to a Congo Republic side that had just pride to play for.
The result meant Cameroon will face Chad who beat Equatorial Guinea in their only game so far in the final.
The final game will be played on Tuesday, December 23 and both Nations have secured qualification for the Under-20 AFCON tournament of next year.
Cameroon’s qualification for the AFCON is the first since 2017 under Ashu Bessong Cyprian.
