Official sources have it that players of historic Cameroon Elite One side TKC of Yaounde were unavailable to honour their Match-Day One fixture of this season’s MTN Elite One Championship because they were whisked to a Hotel in the outskirts of Yaounde on the eve of the event.
The recent development is more like the five time Cameroon top-flight Champions whose great story in Cameroon football can’t be completed inked without mentioning it’s unending intestinal squabbles.
“This Sunday, March 20 we noted the stadium absence of the entire players staff of the TKC who also failed to show up at their designated hotel on the eve of Match-Day. After thorough investigation, we realized the players are in Ngoumou on the instructions of our former president Essomba Mani and Atangana Omgba Martin,” a portion of the letter signed by one of the factions of the club explained.
The later signed by Atangana Firmin further states; ” The president general of TKC distant himself from every action that dishonor the image of the club and Cameroon football. We are committed to using every legal mechanisms to see that such actions are eradicated,” Atangana wrote in a release justifying the familiar scenario.
Recent developments indicates that Essomba Mani who has registered players of TKC and holds the players licenses is opposed by Atanga Firmen who is also claiming ownership of the club and backed by people in high places.
There are proves that the Mani’s boycott actions is aimed at demonstrating he is in control though Firmin’s faction consider themselves as the only legal TKC.
TKC means their Match-Day one League game last Sunday and have been scheduled to face Colombe on Wednesday in Yaounde.
In 2017, a similar event caused the suspension of match officials.
