Spanish Secunda B outfit Celta Vigo B are already reaping the fruits of the trust and investment in 22-year old Olympic Lions of Cameroon midfielder Kevin Soni.
The new recruit came off the bench to score his second goal for the Club in their 2-1 win against Guijuelo in match-day 10 of the Spanish second tier championship.
Pozo A put the visitors ahead in the 22nd minute of the game rewarding a dominant performance in the opening exchanges.
M Rodriguez replied for the host in the 32nd minute with Soni watching from the bench.
Both sides wasted guilt-edge opportunities and the score remained unchanged till the end of the first segment.
Upon resumption for the second segment both sides showed intent of winning all three points going by their attack minded approach.
Kevin Soni was introduced in the 61st minute with Celta in need of fresh legs to hunt the three points.
Unfortunately for Celta, their midfielder Veiga G was sent of in the 71st minute complicating the task of getting a home win from the fixture.
Barely ten minutes after the red card and 20 minutes after his introduction, Soni scored what turned out to be the winner for Celta Vigo B.
The goal ended up being the last of the game as either sides couldn’t take their chances in the remainder of the game including added time.
Celta are second-seeded in the championship with 24 points from 13 games this term.
They are a point adrift Unionistas though they have a game in hand.
Celta face Salamanca in their next league fixture this Sunday.
