Cotonsport’s captain helped Gabriel Hamann’s side extend their brilliant run and the charge towards the top of the league table with his great contributions throughout the month of April as his inspires Cotonsport through an amazing run.
Marou Souaibou has been named David Mayebi Player of the Month for April as a reward for his stellar performances.
Marou saw off competition from last month winner Tegemo Emmanuel of YOSA, Martial Zemba of Apejes who won all in April to clinch his first individual award of the season.
The 21-year old received the award on Wednesday afternoon in Bafoussam, just before the kick-off of their match day 12 game against Eding Sport de la Lekie.

“Thank you for voting for me,” Marou said. “It’s good, but at the end the most important is to win the season.
“Without my team-mates, I am nothing. We did well this month and I hope we can continue like this. I dedicate this trophy to them,” Marou concluded after receiving the most votes from a panel of experts, Premier League captains and the public were combined.

Marou will recieve a cash price of 150000 FCFA from the Cameroon national footballers syndicate which is the prime sponsor of the award organized by the institution known by its French acronym as SYNAFOC. This award is named after SYNAFOC’s founding father, David Mayebi.

Marou Souaibou scored match impacting goals in April, against Bamboutos FC, OFTA, YAFOOT plus a brace against Dragon of Yaoundé.
With five goals in three six games including the one-nil win against OFTA on May 1, and 13 points won for his team, he was favourite and won it deservingly.
